Skipjacks Back in Win Column
The Skipjacks get back on the winning track after their 7-game win streak was snapped on a last second bucket, and trounce Region XX foe, Anne Arundel Community College 99-62.
The Jacks didn't waste any time getting to work on both ends of the floor as they jumped out to a 22-10 lead by the ten-minute mark of the first half. Then the 'Peake went on a blistering 33-7 run, giving them a 55-17 lead at the half.
Anne Arundel never got it closer than 30 points in the second half and the Skipjacks would empty the bench and go on to defeat Anne Arundel, 99-62. Four Skipjacks were able to score in double figures, led by sophomore La'Shaun Moody (Cambridge) with a 22 point, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals performance. Freshman Koby Ennals (Cambridge) scored 15 points and added eight rebounds and 2 assists. Freshman Elisha Johnson-Dixon (Early College) also scored 15 points, and added 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block. Freshman Xavier Buchanan (St. Charles) chipped in 11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.
Chesapeake will be on the road for the remaining two games of the semester before Winter break, as they will be traveling to Western Pennsylvania on Friday, December 19th for a matchup against Waynesburg University JV, and then head south traveling to the Hampton Roads area in southeast Virginia on Monday, December 22nd to take on Virginia Peninsula Community College.
