Men's Basketball Back in the NJCAA DII Top 25

The Jacks' come into the week, back in the NJCAA DII Top 25, ranked #25 in the country after a three game win streak against Essex County College (NJ), Delaware Tech Community College, and Montgomery County Community College (PA).

In their first Region 20 game of the season, the Peake outlasted Frederick Community College (MD), 78-72 in an overtime nail-biter, on Wednesday, November 19th. Up 41-27 at the half, the Jacks came out to a slow start in the second half and the Cougars of Frederick Community College took full advantage, outscoring the Skipjacks 43-29 in the second half to force an overtime. The Jacks outscored Frederick, 8-2 in overtime to come away with a 78-72 win. Four players scored in double figures, and two players recorded double-doubles in the win. Sophomore, La'Shaun Moody, scored at least 20 points for the fifth time, after a 29 point, 10 rebound performance. Freshmen, Elisha Johnson-Dixon scored 14 points and Cade Campbell scored 13. Sophomore, Vince Gilberto, also recorded a double-double with a 10 point, 12 rebound performance.

Friday, November 21st, the Jacks hosted Paul D. Camp Community College (VA) for the first time in school history. In a blowout performance, they defeated the Hurricanes 94-50. Four players notched double figures. Sophomore, La'Shaun Moody, recorded his first 30-point performance of the season with a 30 point, six assists, five steals, and three rebounds. Freshman, Elisha Johnson-Dixon recorded a 16 point, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Freshman, Cade Campbell added 12 points. And in his first start, sophomore Vince Gilberto finished with 16.

The Skipjacks will go into Thanksgiving break with an 6-1 overall record. They will be back in action on December 3rd at 7 PM, when they travel to take on the Panthers of Baltimore City Community College.
