The Chesapeake College Skipjacks Men's Basketball team are on a three game win streak since taking their first and only loss of the season against NJCAA DII #16 ranked Monroe Community College (NY).
They began the win streak with a 89-84 road win against Essex County College (NJ). Four players scored in double figures with three scoring at least 20 points. Sophomore La'Shaun Moody led the Jacks with a 21 point performance, adding seven assists, five rebounds, and two steals. Freshman Elisha Johnson-Dixon notched his first double-double of his collegiate career with a 20 point, ten rebound, six assists, and one steal performance. Fellow freshman Careen Bolden also scored 20 points in the win. Sophomore Marquis Hamby added 16.
In the second game of the win streak, the Jacks secured another win on the road against Delaware Tech Community College (DE), 78-64. The Peake had five players score in double figures. Led again by sophomore La'Shaun Moody with another 20-point performance. Sophomore Marquis Hamby was the second leading scorer with 15. Careen Bolden, Xavier Buchanan, and Cade Campbell all added 11 points.
In the Jacks home opener, NJCAA DIII #15 ranked Montgomery County Community College (PA) came into Skipjack Arena looking for their first road win of the season but the Peake took care of business with a 92-58 win. Sophomore La'Shaun Moody scored at least 20 points for the third time this season with a 22 point performance while adding six made three-pointers. Three other players scored in double figures and a total of ten players scored in the victory.
On Wednesday, November 19th, the Jacks will take on Frederick Community College for their first Region 20 matchup of the season. Come out to Skipjack Arena at 7 PM to see the matchup!
