Skipjacks Finish Season with Win Over Westmoreland

The Chesapeake College Skipjacks volleyball team wrapped up their season with an exhilarating victory in their final game against Westmoreland County Community College. This match also marked the celebration of Sophomore Day, honoring two outstanding players, Kendra Coffey (#7) and Kaleigh Hammond (#5), for their dedication and contributions to the program over the past two seasons.

The Skipjacks fought hard throughout the match, showcasing resilience and skill to secure the win in four intense sets. The final scores were 25-18, 25-20, 23-25, and 27-25, making it a thrilling and competitive way to end the season.

Key players made significant contributions on both offense and defense. Kaleigh Hammond led with 13 kills and added 4 blocks, while Sacoya Williams contributed 7 kills and served up 4 aces, along with 22 digs defensively. Kendra Coffey added 6 kills and 19 digs, with Iyona Brown providing 2 kills, 2 aces, and 16 digs. Emmah Lewis also made impactful plays with 2 kills and solid defensive efforts, supported by teammates Marisa Lopez, Gabrielle Kakabar and Samara Griffin

This game was a fitting finale, filled with high energy and fierce competition, leaving the team and fans with great memories.
