Skipjacks Close Out Regular Season With Win Over Cecil

In a hard-fought matchup, the Chesapeake College Skipjacks managed to secure a 65-57 victory over the Cecil College Seahawks. Both teams demonstrated strong effort and competitive spirit throughout the game, but Chesapeake's resilience and clutch performances ultimately tipped the scales in their favor. The game was characterized by intense defense, strategic plays, and key contributions from multiple players on both sides.

A standout performer was Asia Taylor, who earned Player of the Game honors. Taylor made a significant impact with 11 points, shooting an impressive 7-9 from the free-throw line. She also contributed 1 rebound and 1 assist, providing crucial points during critical moments of the game. Her free-throw accuracy helped Chesapeake maintain their lead and close out the game under pressure.

On the offensive side, Chesapeake was led by Gabrielle Corbin, who scored 17 points and tallied 16 rebounds, and Ty'Aishah Moody, who added 13 points and 6 rebounds. Shenell White contributed 12 points, helping to balance the scoring load. Other significant contributions came from Amaya Richmond and Arianna Woodside who scored 5 points each with Woodside contributing 9 rebounds, reinforcing the team's persistence and grit. The #4 Skipjacks will faceoff against #5 Cecil College again on March 3rd at 6pm in Wye Mills for the first round of the Region 20 DII Women's Basketball Tournament.
