Bio

Coach Maurice Douglas will begin his first season with the Skipjacks in 2025-26.  A local Delmarva product, Coach Douglas played his prep ball at Crisfield High School for Phil Rayfield.  During Douglas’ three seasons on the varsity basketball squad, he helped the Crabbers capture the Maryland state 1A title in 2000.  From there, Douglas moved on to play at CCBC-Catonsville to play for head coach Randy Gregory.  After two good seasons for the Cardinals, Douglas earned a full scholarship to NCAA Division II Slippery Rock University in the tough PSAC.  Douglas played two seasons for legendary Coach Kevin Reynolds at the Rock where they were 39-22 in his two seasons playing there and won the PSAC title in 2009 advancing to the 2^nd round of the NCAA Div. II Tournament.  He graduated from Slippery Rock University with a B.A. in Physical Education, 

He was an assistant coach at his prep alma mater Crisfield High School in 2013-14. In 2014, he helped the Crabbers capture a MPSSAA Class 1A regional title.  Coach Douglas has worked diligently with youth basketball programs on the lower eastern shore throughout the past decade.  Especially his work with the Eastern Shore Aces, a non-profit organization that aids young men from 8-17 years of ageAlong with being the head coach of the Aces AAU program, Coach Douglas was a mentor for young boys in the Aces program, helping them with life skills and academics that would lead a path toward college.
