Skipjacks defeat BCCC and Howard

The Chesapeake College Skipjacks entered the week on a five game win streak before Wednesday and Friday's conference contests against Baltimore City Community College and Howard Community College.

Freshman, Elisha Johnson-Dixon led the Jacks to victory in Wednesday's game at Baltimore City Community College with an all-around performance. Johnson-Dixon finished the game with 16 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and one steal. Sophomore, Vince Gilberto, contributed 14 points, six rebounds, one steal, one block, and also connected on the game tying three-pointer to help the Jacks to victory. Sophomore, Shaun Moody, had 13 points, five rebounds, five steals, two assists, and scored the game winning basket with 1.7 seconds left. Freshman, Koby Ennals, chipped in 10 points.

In Friday's matchup against Howard Community College, the Jacks got off to a slow start only scoring 19 points in the first half, but found a way to win.  Trailing the entire contest, Chesapeake took its first lead on a three pointer by freshman Xavier Buchanan with less than a minute remaining in the game.  Chesapeake was led again by freshman, Elisha Johnson-Dixon who iced the game with two free throws, he scored a season high 25 points, and also added five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Sophomore, Shaun Moody, contributed 19 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

The 20th ranked Skipjacks will take their seven game win streak into Wednesday's game,  as they'll be hosting CCBC Dundalk in a Region 20 showdown at 6pm and the Jacks will also be home again on Friday with a Region 20 contest vs. Anne Arundel CC at 7pm.
