Bio

Coach Chance has coached various teams throughout his successful career. He coached with Coach Hayes at Easton High School and came to Chesapeake with Hayes in 2008. He returned to Easton to coach his youngest daughter Caitlin until she finished her softball career at Easton. In 2012 Coach Chance returned to Chesapeake and has played an integral role in the success of the Skipjacks in 2012 and in 2013. 

Coach Chance also coached for 6 years with the Severna Park Hornets who ended up as the Severna Park Hornets 18U Gold team. The Gold team played in the ASA 18U Gold National Tournament in 2009 and 2011 finishing in 17th place in 2011. Well versed in all aspects of the game Chance specializes in the art of hitting. 

Chance graduated from Easton High School and in 1986, graduated 2nd in his class from the Calhoun MEBA Engineering School. He now owns and runs Chance & Associates, a successful construction business located in Easton, MD. Jay is married to his wife Shelly and has 3 daughters, Ashley, Heather and Caitlin. Jay and Shelly currently reside in Easton.
