Harford 105, Chesapeake 104
WYE MILLS – Malachi Seney scored on a reverse layup with 4.8 seconds remaining to lift the Owls, who finished the game on a 7-1 run to spoil a 44-point performance by Jimmie Jenkins (10 assists).
Dimitrious Jelen-Joy scored a team-high 29 points and Jeff Joynes added 23 for Harford, which also received 21 points from Colby Giacubeno. Carlos Brown scored 12 as the Owls (5-10, 3-4) placed four players in double figures.
Justin May scored 17 points while Chad Church and Louis Simpson (12 rebounds) tallied 15 each for the Skipjacks (8-6, 3-4).
"We'll get over it," said Chesapeake head coach Joel Dearring, who blamed "a lack of poise" for the loss. "We didn't run our offense down the stretch and our defense was abysmal. To lose a ballgame on a layup just shows how bad our defense was."
The game was tied, 54-54, at the half.
